My Story

I have been treating back, neck and related joint and muscular problems for over 33 years.

After completing my training at the McTimoney School in 1986, I built up a busy practice in Wilmslow, Cheshire, and continued my training in the treatment of animals.

After qualifying, I moved to Hong Kong to work with the racehorses and expatriates at a clinic on Hong Kong Island.

On my return to the UK, my own health problems led me to discover The Bowen Technique and I completed my training for both people and equines in 1998.

In 1999 I relocated to the South Cotswolds, where I practice today in busy practices in Cheltenham, Nailsworth and Stroud.

What I Do

Bones may become slightly displaced due to heavy lifting, accidents, occupational hazards, poor posture and many other stresses of daily life. This in turn can result in compromised nerve function.

The position of the joints of the body are assessed at each visit and gentle adjustments used to realign the skeletal frame thereby releasing muscle spasm and allowing nerve function to be restored. The aim is to encourage the natural ability of the body to repair itself, thereby enabling a return to optimum health. Typically conditions such as migraine & tension headaches, back, neck & shoulder pain, muscular aches, whiplash and sciatic pain can all benefit.

Classical McTimoney Manipulation is a whole body treatment which gently realigns the spine and joints of the body to relieve pain and discomfort. It is suitable for all ages, from young babies throught to the elderly, and is very helpful following trauma and at certain stages in life, such as during pregnancy, fast growing puberty, and diminishing mobility.

The Bowen Technique is an effective treatment working on the muscles and soft tissue to give pain relief, promote healing and increase energy levels. Gentle moves are applied to specific points of the muscle which in turn release muscle spasm and encourage the body to realign itself without the need for manipulation or force which makes the treatment so unique.

The work can be performed through light clothing and 3 or 4 treatments are often sufficient to help relieve even long-standing problems. Similarly, it is used in the treatment of headaches, neck pain, frozen shoulder, tennis elbow, back pain and sciatica but is also useful for asthma, hay fever, acute and chronic fatigue/M.E. sufferers.

I went to see Dianne because of a frozen shoulder. I had an injection a year before which relieved the symptoms, but they had started to come back and I could feel my shoulder starting to freeze again. Very quickly Dianne was able to alleviate the pain, and I now have 100% movement and am completely pain free. After trying everything, this was the first thing that worked and I am very grateful!
