My Story
I trained as an Osteopath qualifying in 1977. I have practiced in London, Bristol and now Nailsworth and Stroud . Quite soon after qualifying I found that I was more interested in the subtle depth of cranial osteopathy than in regular musculoskeletal manipulation and it has held my interest ever since. I have also been involved with teaching, and am part of the faculty of the Sutherland Cranial College of Osteopathy.

I have been deeply interested for many years in how, as a practitioner I can support your body to find its own unique journey to healing. The key to this, I have found, is often related in some way to a disturbance or restriction of movement. All body systems and tissues need movement in order to function optimally. We can use this both diagnostically and in terms of treatment. Cranial Osteopathy is the way that enables me to read both the health in your system and your particular patterns of disturbance or trauma that is inhibiting optimal movement and therefore function.
Cranial osteopathy is a very gentle but effective treatment that works to support, restore and integrate inherent movement within the body as a whole, including the cranium. Because it is so gentle it is very appropriate for people who have suffered trauma.

I have a particular interest and experience in working with children and babies. Often the birth process is difficult in some way, and we can use gentle contact with our hands to restore movement and release trauma.

I have been interested in different forms of movement for many years from Amerta movement to Body-mind Centring and Qi Gong. I have also done the part one of the Sensory Motor Psychotherapy training in trauma.

In my spare time, I play the flute, garden, walk in nature and enjoy the company of my partner, friends and family.
