Allergy Therapy uses muscle resistance testing to identify food intolerances, sensitivities and allergies. Desensitisation programmes are available for hay fever and other airborne/chemical allergies. By eliminating or reducing foods that the body is reacting to, the body’s stress responses, digestive system and immune system can begin to become more balanced, allowing a return to health.

Naturopathic Nutritional Therapy is the application of nutrition science in the promotion of health and peak performance. It can help identify potential nutritional imbalances and how these contribute to symptoms. Naturopathic nutrition seeks to restore the body’s vital energy through changes in diet, naturopathic cleansing techniques and correction of nutritional deficiencies.

Homotoxicology is a branch of homeopathy developed in the 1950’s by a German doctor who was also a homeopath and naturopath. This branch of homeopathy uses low dose complex remedies which are designed to strengthen the body’s response to toxicity, assist with detoxification and strengthen organ systems and immune responses.

Iridology can provide valuable information about the body’s constitutional strengths and weaknesses, levels of inflammation and toxaemia and the efficiency of the eliminative systems and organs.

Ayurveda is believed to be the oldest medical system in the world and can be traced back 6000 years. Its ancient teachings are still relevant today. Ayurveda seeks to bring balance to the body through an understanding of mind, body, senses and soul. It is a holistic system that believes that every individual is capable of taking charge of their own life and healing. Guidance on correct diet, lifestyle.

Naturopathy is an approach to health care which aims to promote, restore and maintain health. It recognises that everyone is unique and will respond in a unique way to influences whether they are mental/emotional, structural, nutritional, social or cultural. It recognises the connection and interaction between the structural, biochemical and mental/emotional compoents of all beings. Disruption in one area invariably leads to dysfunction elsewhere. Naturopathy believes that the body contains an innate wisdom to be able to heal itself, given the correct circumstances. Naturopathy includes bodywork, nutrition, iridology, homeopathy, herbs and hydrotherapy techniques.

NAET® (Namdudripad's Allergy Elimination Techniques)

Dr Nambudripad's discovery, NAET®, is an innovative and completely natural method for regaining better health and effectively relieving food and environmental sensitivities and the diseases arising from those sensitivities.

NAET is based on Chinese medicine, kinesiology and Chiropractic massage. It is natural, painless and non-invasive. Sensitivities are identified by neuro-muscular sensitivity testing (kinesiology). This method can also indicate which organs and meridians are affected by the food or environmental sensitivity.

NAET energy balancing procedures consist of acupressure and meridian balancing on the back, arms and legs. Food and environmental sensitivities are addressed in a strict order, one at a time, in order that lasting balance can be returned to the body. After a NAET balancing procedure you will be advised to rest for 20 minutes before leaving the clinic. Allergens need to be strictly avoided for 25 hours after the balancing procedure.

I originally qualified in Allergy Therapy in 1994 and have continued to train in different disciplines ever since, adding Nutritional Medicine, Iridology, Homotoxicology, Ayurveda and Naturopathy over the years. My training in Nutritional Medicine encompassed elements of Naturopathic Medicine, Homeopathy and Chinese Medicine in addition to nutritional science, pathology, physiology, anatomy and chemistry.

I have been passionate about empowering people to regain their health for many years. As a Naturopath I believe that the body has an innate wisdom to return to health given the right circumstances. In order to do this an important part of the healing process is to fully understand how the disease process started and attention is given to this during each consultation. Every person is an individual and will therefore arrive at dis-ease via a different route. It could be inherited deficiencies, compromised detoxification of the liver, exhausted adrenals, hormonal imbalances, weak digestion, immune deficiency, blood sugar regulation imbalances. Many of these will result in food sensitivities; occasionally it may be that the food sensitivity has caused the imbalance. My aim is to help my clients make sense of their symptoms, understand their constitution and therefore be able to fully take control of their health.

I am particularly interested in hormonal imbalances such as hypoglycaemia; hypothyroidism; polycystic ovary syndrome; adrenal exhaustion; pre-menstrual syndrome; menopausal symptoms obesity and infertility.

I run a pre-conceptual care programme in conjunction with the charity 'Foresight' and recently worked with a sports therapist to develop a programme designed to regulate weight, balance hormone levels and change body composition in order to reduce the risk of heart disease, high cholesterol and diabetes. I also co-run the local Gluten Free support group.

I am also principal of the College of Allergy Therapy and Naturopathic Nutrition which provides courses in Allergy Therapy and Naturopathic Nutrition at practitioner level.

The initial two hour consultation consists of a full nutritional diagnosis, allergy testing (using muscle resistance testing), Iridology (iris diagnosis) and tongue and pulse diagnosis. Laboratory diagnostic testing is also used when considered appropriate.
